Correlation between ACE Genotype and Cardiopulmonary Endurance by Sasang Constitution Styles in Korean Middle-aged Women

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test the relationship between ACE genotype and Cardiopulmonary endurance in Sasang constitution styles.

Methods: For this study, I proceeded the judgement of Sasang Constitution by Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classfication¥±(QSCC¥±) and the morphologic measurement of Sasang Constitution. And to measure Cardiopulmonary endurance Bruce protocol was used. 60 Korean middle-aged women in agreement with QSCC¥± and the morphologic measurement of Sasang Constitution was became the subjects of this study and the data was analyzed by using SPSS/PC 10.0.

Results and Conclusions:
1. As a result of Sasang constitution classification, the subjects were composed of 34(56.6%) Taeumin(÷¼ëäìÑ), 18(30%) Soyangin(á´åÕìÑ) and 8(13.3%) Soeumin(á´ëäìÑ).
2. ACE genotype distributions(ID, II, DD) in Korean middle-aged women was showed 35(58.3%), 14(23.3%) and 11(18.3%).
3. ACE genotype frequencies by Sasang constitution had likeness among the three constitutions. The ID genotype frequencies was the highest and II genotype frequencies was higher than DD genotype frequencies or the same but there is no significant difference.
4. Generally in correlation between ACE genotype and cardiopulmonary endurance II and ID genotype group denoted a tendency to be better at cardiopulmonary enduranc but there is no significant difference.
